All Else

Kuroha has posted a lot of extra stuff related to his manga to the internet over the years, but unfortunately, much of it is no longer anywhere online.

  • He had a twitter before his current one, but it got suspended in 2017.
  • He had a blog for many years, but it's gone now.
  • He had an instagram for a bit, but it's gone now.

Unfortunately, unlike with the ura site, I've not been able to find comprehensive archives of any of this stuff. A few pages on web archives, a few things reposted on fansites... I'm sure some fans that were following stuff back when it was current must have all of it saved somewhere, but I'm kinda out of luck. A lot of dead links and descriptions is all I can find. Tragic really.

That out of the way, here is a collection of those few things that I could find, + stuff he's posted to his current twitter. This includes material for all his original works save Yuugai Shitei Doukyuusei (that'll be its own thing later). Kitakubu, Magical Lollipop, and various one-shots are represented.

Collection

(tried putting context/note stuff on the album itself. I guess that's a thing you can do)

Kuroha has also posted a good amount of stuff about a variety of other series, like Girls & Panzer, Pokemon, Aikatsu, etc, as well as other original material unrelated to his series... I'm not sure if I'll translate some of that at some point either. If so it'll definitely be further down the line.

Going-Home Club Secret Site - April 2 2015 Update (Final)

 Read Here

This is the final update to the secret site, corresponding to NEWS×it, which started on 2015-04-02, and the crossover chapter, "14.5," which released on the same date.

Notes:

  • Image 6: For what it's worth, though NEWS×it did end up lasting 2 volumes, this was because Kuroha chose to end it, rather than because of sales.
  • Image 9: Suica is (per wikipedia) a prepaid rechargable smart card primarily used as a fare card for transportation, but also generally as electronic money. Since Kanazawa did not have electronic turnstiles, they presumably would not have been able to use a Suica for its "primary" purpose.

And that's a wrap.

Going-Home Club Secret Site - June 12 2014 Update (Chapter 64)

 Read Here

This is the 2014-06-12 update to the secret site, corresponding to Chapter 64 of Chronicles of the Going-Home Club.

Notes:

  • Image 5: Doki doki is heart beating. Waku waku is excitement. Is this a necessary note? I honestly dunno. Also this whole thread is about the survey that was on page 4 of chapter 63. I considered putting the thread with the chapter, but it would have been time traveling.

Going-Home Club Secret Site - May 22 2014 Update (Chapter 63)

 Read Here

This is the 2014-05-22 update to the secret site, corresponding to Chapter 63 of Chronicles of the Going-Home Club.

Notes:

  • Image 4 (post 1): "Poison" (and "spice") is said in English. Probably why she gets mixed up.
  • Image 4 (post 5): "Giri chocolate" is obligation/platonic chocolate. "Girigiri" is an onomatopoeic term that roughly means "barely," ie, what Natsuki makes is barely chocolate, but it sounds like the other thing.
  • Image 6: As noted in the note with the chapter, "nikunuki" is demeating, but it just means making holes. So it's just stuff about holes. Sakura asks for a dish without meat (which would turn it into a different dish) but instead it's a dish with a hole.
  • Image 6: The part about the mesh is in reference to toy cars again, I think.

Volume 1/2 Extra Pages

So it goes without saying that I don't have any plans to do my own releases of chapters 10-24; the releases on mangadex are good and so there's not really any reason to. However, there were a handful of pages excluded from those releases, so I figured I'd at least put those out. I'm not sure what releasing them here or in this way really accomplishes, but my completionism compels me nonetheless.

So here they are.

In order:

  • Chocomint Scream for Chapter 10
  • Lazy Days for Chapter 11*
  • Inner cover for Volume 1
  • Back inner cover for Volume 1
  • Full cover art for Volume 1**
  • Index page for Volume 2
  • Chocomint Scream for Chapter 21
  • Inner cover for Volume 2
  • Back inner cover for Volume 2
  • Full cover art for Volume 2

*Menko

**Daruma-san fell down/over is basically Red Light, Green Light, and I may even have been tempted to localize it as such except it's pretty hard to split 2 single syllable words into 3 parts.

That's about it.

Notes:
  • Image 4: As of this update, there's a one line gap in the thread sidebar after the "new year's resolution" thread. I don't know why this is, but it is.

Going-Home Club Secret Site - April 24 2014 Update (Magical Chapter 9)

Read Here

This is the 2014-04-24 update to the secret site, corresponding to Chapter 9 of Magical Lollipop.

Notes:

  • Image 5: At some point between this update and the one for Chapter 65, the merch page gets updated again, replacing the placeholder Magical Lollipop cover with the actual one and dropping the "volume 1" from the name. I haven't been able to find exactly when this happens, though, and it's a minor enough change to not bother with..
  • Image 7: Botan nabe is made with wild boar meat. Apparently it is arranged to look like a peony, thus the name.

This is the 2014-04-10 update to the secret site, corresponding to Chapter 61 of Chronicles of the Going-Home Club.

Some note stuff included in the folder itself since it's mostly visual.

Notes:

  • Image 5: I'm not translating anything else, but you can see the full list of series here. I like the Guru Guru one a lot.

Going-Home Club Secret Site - March 13 2014 Update (Chapter 60)

Read Here

This is the 2014-03-13 update to the secret site, corresponding to Chapter 60 of Chronicles of the Going-Home Club.

Notes:

  • Image 4: The Square Enix Manga Taisho Kiwami was a series of themed manga contests held by Gangan ONLINE, in which winners could be published on the site, or in comic anthologies corresponding to the theme. Finding info on them now is a bit tough, but as far as I can gather, these contests only lasted from around 2011~2015, with there being ~11 in total. (there is a separate "Square Enix Manga Taisho," run by SE publishing in general, which is still a thing). For the second Kiwami, the theme was "Going-Home Club," and what became the one-shot of this manga placed, later being published in the Kiwami "Going-Home Club" anthology.
  • Image 5: "バールのようなもの" (bar no you na mono), or "something like a crowbar" is apparently a phrase sometimes used in news and the like to describe, well, the use of things like crowbars. It seems like this gets made fun of a good bit. Crowbar in japanese is just "baaru" (バール), and pearl is "paaru" (パール), hence the thing about the names being similar.

Notes:

  • Image 3: The three threads from this update are accidentally listed twice on the sidebar for the thread index. That's how it was on the original site too and it stays like that. This doesn't carry over to the sidebars on the threads themselves, though.

Going-Home Club Secret Site - December 26 2013 Update (Chapter 57)

Read Here

This is the 2013-12-26 update to the secret site, corresponding to Chapter 57 of Chronicles of the Going-Home Club.

Notes:

  • Image 3:  Very minor detail, but you may notice thread 34 ("Is the atmosphere really like that when aspiring manga artists bring in their work?") loses its post count on the index page starting with this update. The same thing happened on the actual site, and is preserved here I guess for authenticity's sake.
  • Image 4: The dates on these updates would tell you as much, but the manga had a bimonthly update schedule, with new chapters coming out on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month. On December 2013, the fourth Thursday was on the 26th.
  • Image 6 (Post 24): The anime came out in the summer of 2013.
  • Image 6 (Post 31): Editor Ogawa's appearance in the nico livestream really is mentioned in the official  description for volume 4, as you can find it to this very day on any site that has it.
  • Image 8: Maybe unnecessary to note, but w's are basically the japanese lol. I could have replaced them with lols, but keeping the w's felt better.
  • Image 9: The thing about holding a fan meetup and 5 people showing up is based on a true story.
  • Image 11 (Post 4): The 1999 sentai series, Kyukyu Sentai GoGoFive, actually uses Go(Color) as the naming pattern, and the fifth member is in fact GoGreen. I...assume that's at least part of the gag?
  • Image 11 (Post 9/10): A "2nd term debut" being the theme of the anime's opening theme song. I haven't actually seen the anime in over half a decade now, so I do not remember if there was anything done with the idea in anime original content within the anime itself.
  • Image 11 (Post 9): The "When will you do it/has to be now" thing is of course calling back to Toshin High School, like the old Hama thread.  "Itsu yaruno? Ima desho!" was the biggest "meme" to come out of those cms, with the teacher who said it becoming something of a mini-celebrity off it alone.
